Stay In The Know

A relaxing day in South Beach

May 26, 2016

Not all is craziness in South Beach, there are also many things to do for people that just want to go to the beach for a few days, destress and relax.

For the traveler looking to super relax and detox you can actually stay in a Spa-Hotel like Canyon Ranch or The Standard Hotel. Most of those options are expensive, require memberships or extra fees. Otherwise, you can still stay in South Beach just have to make sure the hotel you choose has quiet room options or is little far from the touristy areas. El Paseo Hotel is located in a very popular street but we do have quiet rooms and suites that face the back of the building. Ask our front desk and we will gladly accommodate you!

A relaxing day in South Beach would start by walking up early and go for a run on the beach. Summer is extremely hot, make sure to do this before 10 am or in the evening after 6:30 pm You can go at any time during the winter season, the weather is perfect. If you don't like running there are also free beach yoga classes during the sunrise, is the best.

After taking cool shower head to breakfast at The Standard Hotel's bay side restaurant called Lido. This is one of my favorite places in SoBe, the food is healthy and delicious. The view and scene are spectacular. A more laid back option would be to go to this healthy secret spot place called Juice and Java located on Washington avenue between 13th and 14th streets.

Renting a bike instead of taking a cab is a great option, is a workout, cheap and don't have to deal with traffic. My favorite bike ride starts on 15th street boardwalk, cross Lummus Park on Ocean Drive down to 5th street, then go to South Pointe Park. While is South Pointe park take a break visit the brand new pier, have a drink at Smith & Wollensky's or just sit under a palm tree watching the cruise ships  and yachts pass by.

Finally, you can end your day watching a free movie at the Soundscape park. Make sure to check the schedule online. Bring a blanket, some tapas and a bottle of wine, enjoy!
