Get to know the South Beach Art-Deco District

July 20, 2016

Miami Beach has over 800 Art Deco buildings or structures that were built between 1923 and 1943. Take a day to walk around South Beach enjoying a healthy and rich cultural tour. Here are our favorite areas with the most Art-Deco structures in South Beach.

Ocean Drive

Ocean Drive is full of beautiful Art Deco boutique hotels, shops and restaurants. Some of the most famous hotels located here are the colony, the Clevelander, the tides, Carlyle and Cardozo hotel. Don't forget to go back at night with your camera if you want to have an iconic shot of the Art Deco neon signs.

If you want to learn more about the art-deco history in South Beach, visit the Art- deco welcome center located right across from the Clevelander Hotel on 10th Street and Ocean Drive.

Collins Avenue

As you may know, Collins Avenue in South Beach is one of the top shopping destinations in Miami but is also a must-see during your Art-Deco walking tour. Some of our favorite hotels on Collins Avenue are the Tiffany hotel, the Essex House, the Tudor, and of course the most recent landmark, The Loews Miami Beach hotel.

Lincoln Road Mall

Lincoln Road's best Art-Deco buildings start with the famous and beautiful Delano Hotel. Most of the shops or buildings in Lincoln Road have an Art-Deco influence. Check out the recent H&M building, Apple Store and the famous 1111 Lincoln Road Garage.
