Best Parks in Miami Beach

July 27, 2016

Miami Beach biggest park is the blue ocean and beaches, but it also has many large green areas where people can exercise, have fun with the family or enjoy many other activities.

Here are some of the best parks in Miami Beach:

South Pointe Park

South Pointe Park is one of the most popular ones among all Miami Beach parks. Located at the southern tip of the island, the park offers something for everyone including a kids area with a playground and a mini water park.

It provides an amazing panoramic view of Fisher Island, Downtown Miami, Biscayne Bay and the ocean. Enjoy the up-close view of the mega cruise ships as they enter or exit the port.

Flamingo Park

Flamingo Park is nestled in the heart of South Beach. It brings the entire neighborhood together late afternoons and it’s a great park to get a glimpse of the locals. If features a fenced kids playground and a pool for residents.

There are plenty of slides and swings to keep kids busy. The pool is free for residents and visitors pay a small fee.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden

While it’s a bit small to meet the criteria for a spacious escape, what the Miami Beach Botanical Garden lacks in acreage, it makes up for in meditative beauty.

When you arrive, head to the south part of the garden, where you’ll find a painstakingly detailed Zen garden, which provides just the atmosphere for pensive self-reflection in a city better known for its less profound pleasures. Take a spot on a bench while you contemplate the coy and the life-size bonzai trees nearby. Open 9-5 daily.

Lummus Park

Lummus Park in South Beach and on Ocean Drive is part of the Deco District and has been the backdrop for many a television or film scene. This beachfront park is one of the most popular destinations in Miami and a must-see for any tourist.

There are public restrooms and paved paths for walking or biking but the main amenity is the beach itself, with clear turquoise water and tall beautiful palm trees. Lummus is within walking distance of Ocean Drives many restaurants, sidewalk cafes and stores.

Miami Soundscape Park

Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets…free outdoor movies are back at the Miami Beach SoundScape. Come out and watch classics and new releases screened on an enormous 7,000-square-foot projection wall in dynamic surround sound.

Every Wednesday night (and some Thursdays) from October thru May, Miami Beach SoundScape explodes with excitement – bring the kids, pack a picnic and get ready to enjoy a night under the stars.
