Miriam and the Women of the DesertDescriptionA spiritual journey told through music that speaks to the Exodus through the eyes of Miriam the Prophetess. Stories are drawn from Torah and from Midrash. Miriam, the keeper of the well, the voice of the women, along with her brothers Aaron and Moses, lead the journey. The story explores family relationships, It tells of mothers raising strong women, father's influence, meaningful love relationships, of offspring and generational heritage. As we wander through the desert searching for meaning, the cast of beautifully trained voices tells the stories of Miriam, Zipporah, Yocheved, the midwives and the tribe. The musical production features: Cantors David Presler as the Pharaoh/Voice of God and Miriam's son Hur;  Rebbekah Faustin as Miriam/Puah; George Munoz, Jr as Aaron/Caleb and Jethro, Rose Lopater as Yocheved.  Also featured are Heidi Marie Salonia as Zippporah and a midwife; Sandy Lopater as Moses, Avram and Bezalil ; Jaqueline Kaskel as the Egyptian Princess and as a midwife.    Book, lyrics and music by Sheila Firestone. David Presler, Music Director.  Art work of Bonita Tabakin is integrated into the story. DIRECTIONS:  From I-95 and The Turnpike: Take Sunrise Blvd East. Pass the RailRoad Tracks (about two miles east of I-95).   Go two lights to the flashing red light. This light will eventually turn green!  Make U-turn, STAY iin RIGHT LANE.  Just before Railroad tracks (PEP BOYS) turn right on N.Flagler Drive. Theater is two blocks on right. Free parking on street and in lot in back.
