El Paseo - great boutique hotel!

Although my husband and I have visited South Beach before, we wanted to stay in a different area than right on Collins Avenue. El Paseo is located on Espanola Way, a lively European style walkway with wonderful restaurants. El Paseo is a charming boutique hotel that offers comfort, ambiance, excellent location and extremely pleasant personnel. We traveled with our daughter and her fiancee staying in 2 separate suites, each with a living room, shower bathroom, and full kitchen with a TV in the living room and a TV in the bedroom. El Paseo provided toiletries, extra linens, beach towels, kitchen equipment and dishes, hairdryer, bathrobes, safe and more. The staff was very obliging in honoring any special requests. Iced lemon water is available in the reception area and the 2nd floor library and coffee/tea area is open all the time. Although El Paseo does not have a pool, Betsy's Beach is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and lounge chairs are provided to hotel guests free of charge. Umbrellas may be purchased. As for location, Espanola Way off of Washington, and a short walk to Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive, where there are many restaurants and shops. We walked to the Versace Mansion, Lummus Park, the Botanical Gardens, the Holocaust Memorial and South Pointe Park. When travelling out of the area, like to Little Havana, Wynwood Walls and to Biscayne Mall, it was easy enough to get an Uber right at the end of Espanola Way. When we return to South Beach, we would definitely stay at El Paseo again

Boutique Hotel in a perfect location

Perfectly located right in the heart of Espanola Way, close to a great selection of good restaurants, cafes, bars and a short walk to Miami beach. The staff were professional, very helpful and courteous, in particular, Ana at the front desk, Victor and Rudi

Great location if you like busy climates

El Paseo is a nice boutique hotel located in South Beach on Espanola Way. We didn't realize how lively this area was. The whole strip is busy with tones of people eating at the restaurants that sprawl onto the street. Most are Italian and very lively. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It's a bit older but they've done a great job making sure that it's kept up to date. The hotel is awkwardly shaped, the reception entrance is small and has stairs directly to the second floor rooms and a lounge area. The rooms are similarly as clean, bathrooms are in great condition with modern walk in shower, new sinks etc. The bedroom has a mini bar, modern TV etc. My only complaint and suggestion is make sure your room isn't facing Washington. It was very loud and if external noises bother you, you'd do well to ask for a room not facing street level or even Esplanade Way which gets extremely busy and noisy after 6. The hotel also has a beach space and provides you with towels. It's not very large and they are strict about the space and where you sit. Aside from that it's great they have access to that. The hotel gives you a 15% discount card for restaurants on Esplanade Way. This was a winning sell for us and we were very happy. We went to Hosteria Romana and had a great meal. All the the staff are Italian and given my Italian background was extremely impressed with the authenticity. I'll submit a separate review for it but make sure you visit if you stay at El Paseo (and make sure to use that 15% discount!). Lastly the staff is helpful and super attentive. The price was perfect and just right. It's however low season and suspect during peak season it would be far more pricey. Lastly be careful that the hotel charges a resort fee of about $12 per day and requires a deposit of about $150. I booked on Expedia which didn't make this crystal clear. Make sure you're aware. Great experience, I'd gladly come again

Gem

Small boutique hotel. Gem but on very trafficked Hispaniola Way. 2 blocks from beach - an easy amble with access to beach club. Staff very attentive. Room large and comfy. Discount given for restaurants on Hispaniola. Liked it a lot. In the heart of South Beach if you want access to everything it is a good spot. Walking to Art Deco District and Lincoln Road shopping
